Police respond to smash‑and‑grab at Westfield Fashion Square Mall in Sherman Oaks

SHERMAN OAKS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Shoppers at the Westfield Fashion Square Mall in Sherman Oaks Wednesday experienced a frightening night after a smash-and-grab robbery near the Macy's department store.

AIR7 video showed significant police activity outside Macy's as officers responded to the incident. Additional video posted to Citizen captured heavily armed officers exiting the store.

Eyewitnesses told police the suspects fled in a white Lexus. Authorities have not yet released details on what may have been taken.

The investigation remains ongoing.
