GRANANDA HILLS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles police are investigating a series of home burglaries across the San Fernando Valley, including a recent break-in in Granada Hills that neighbors say is part of a growing pattern.
The most recent burglary happened late Thursday on Wood Ranch Road, according to LAPD. Police said there have been multiple burglaries on the same street in recent weeks, prompting residents to remain on alert.
Police responded to the home around 8:40 p.m. after reports of a break-in. Neighbors noticed a heavy police presence shortly after officers arrived.
"It's just going around here, you know, it's everywhere," said Susie, who lives nearby.
Another neighbor said police activity, including a helicopter overhead, quickly raised concern.
"The helicopter and I'm like omg, I text my neighbor, I go 'What's going on? Is your husband home?'" Susie recalled.
LAPD said no one was home at the time of the burglary, but the homeowner was watching the incident unfold through his Ring camera. Investigators are searching for three suspects who entered the home and fled with some of the owner's belongings. Police have not said what was taken or how much it was worth.
Fred McClain, who also lives nearby, said the home has been targeted repeatedly.
"It's a concern in the neighborhood because this is the third break-in in that particular home. There's some concern about why that particular home is always broken in," he said.
The burglary is part of a broader series of break-ins reported across the San Fernando Valley over the past week.
On Wednesday, a home on Vanscoy Avenue in Valley Glen was burglarized, with suspects fleeing before police arrived. On Tuesday, two homes about two miles apart in Valley Village were also broken into, and suspects in both cases escaped.
With no arrests reported in any of the cases, residents in Granada Hills say they are taking extra precautions.
"We're just being very, very watchful and we're communicating with each other," McClain said.
Bonnie, another nearby resident, said concern about burglaries has long been on her mind.
"I've always been worried about burglaries, it's why I have a dog," she said.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
